Dublin City Council and Friends of Medieval Dublin are delighted to present Milestones of Medieval Dublin a series of seven free lunchtime lectures held monthly between June and December 2013. All talks are held at the Wood Quay Venue, Dublin City Council, Civic Offices, against the unique historical backdrop of a stretch of the original Viking wall dating from the 12th century.
Renowned experts will explain just how the invasions, battles, famines and plagues that medieval Dubliners had to deal with, make this one of the most fascinating cities in Europe. This is a unique opportunity to discover how events like the arrival of the Vikings and the Anglo-Normans who built Dublin castle helped shape our city.
Milestones of Medieval Dublin, is presented in collaboration between Dublin City Council and the Friends of Medieval Dublin and is an action of the Dublin City Heritage Plan.
