Household Charge

Dear Resident,

I have received calls from residents asking how they can pay the household charge.

To help you, I have set out below answers to some questions about the household charge.

Q. How much is the charge?

The Household Charge is €100 per residential property to be paid by March 31st 2012. If payment is not made on time extra charges will accumulate.

 

Q. How can I pay the household charge? Online, Post, In Person & By Instalments?

 

Online

You can pay online with a credit card/debit card by going to www.householdcharge.ie

 

 

Post

Payment can be made by cheque or postal order made payable to ‘’Household Charge’’.

This form (click to access) is to be filled in and sent by post with the cheque or postal order to:

Local Government Management Agency,

Household Charge Section,

PO Box 12168,

Dublin 1

 

 

In Person

You can pay in cash at

Dublin City Council, Cash Office, Ground Floor Civic Offices, Block 3, Wood Quay, Dublin 2. The opening hours of Customer Services Cash Office in the Civic Offices are from 9.00am – 5.00pm. Again the above form needs to be filled in.

 

 

By instalments

You can pay in four instalments of €25 by direct debit.

This option is only be available until 1st March 2012.

Call the Household Charge Bureau at 1800 357357 to set this up.

Dates of payment from householders bank accounts for 2012 are as follows:

Instalment number 1: 13th March 2012,

Instalment number 2: 14th May 2012

Instalment number 3: 13th July 2012,

Instalment number 4: 10th September 2012

 

Q. What details do I need to register and pay the household charge?

You need the following details:

• name of the owner of the residential property

• Address for correspondence

• Address of the property you are paying for

• Your PPS Number

• An answer to a security question listed on the form to stop someone getting access to your account details
